Jamestown man charged in machete, pepper spray attacks – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – A North Dakota man faced threats of assault, property damage and violence following an incident at the Albert Lea Trails Travel Center.

William Frederick Seekins, 39, faces the following charges: three counts of 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon; 3rd degree assault count; a series of threats of violence; and counting criminal damage to property.

On Oct. 30, Albert Lea police spoke with two men who said they were chatting when Seekins “came out brandishing a knife,” according to court documents.

According to the men, Seekins threw a bottle of urine at them – hitting one of them – swung a “large, serrated machete” at a total of three men and pepper-sprayed one of them.

Seekins allegedly complained that he was woken up by two men talking.

The third man said he attended the scene after seeing Seekins pepper spray one of the others.

The third man punched Seekins. Seekins allegedly chased her through the parking lot with a machete while threatening to kill her and her dog.

Court documents allege police saw security footage of Seekins brandishing a machete and chasing other truck drivers.

Court documents also allege Seekins cut the emergency hose line on the air brake system.

Arrest warrants publicly filed in Freeborn County Court allege police found a Gerber brand machete and a pepper spray canister in Seekins’ truck.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on December 19.
