Travis Kelce theft: Police recover Kansas City Chiefs TE’s watch after multiple thefts targeting athletes during games

LEAWOOD, Kan. Authorities are investigating the spill Latest burglaries at professional athletes’ homes A watch belonging to Kansas City Chiefs forward Travis Kelce was seized in Providence, Rhode Island, according to sources familiar with the case. he told ABC News.

Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas, was burglarized just hours after the burglary at the home of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs were about to kick off Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints.

Police had not previously disclosed that a watch was taken from Kelce, but confirmed that $20,000 in cash was stolen.

Police believe the athletes were targeted based on their match schedules and are working with other luxury homeowners to determine whether a criminal gang is also targeting them.

So far, all of these thefts have occurred when no one was home. A security source told ABC News there were concerns about what would happen if the athlete or family members were there.

Burglars conduct extensive surveillance, sometimes posing as delivery drivers, maintenance workers or joggers, to gain information about residences, neighborhoods and security systems, according to an NFL memo obtained by ABC News.

A law enforcement source told ABC News that the burglars knew what they were looking for, knew where the house was and would be in and out within 15 minutes.
