California woman who thought victim was ‘devil’ claimed she was crazy

The couple was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital. The man had puncture wounds and stab wounds to his lung, and hospital staff told officers he had narrowly missed a major artery. The woman was also treated for her injuries.

Officers were told there was a toddler in the home and one of the victims was the primary caregiver. Dennison told authorities that he stabbed the man because he believed he was the devil and that he could not allow the child to be raised by him.

When Dennison tried to attack the couple further, they defended themselves by using the baby gate and kitchen utensils as shields.

The victims testified in court on Friday that they were still deeply affected physically, mentally and emotionally by the incident.

“The attack ended in reality, but it never ended in my head,” the victim said. “The paranoia runs deep, and it doesn’t just surround Tiffany. “I don’t trust any strangers anymore… I don’t trust my judgment about new people anymore.”

Dennison was ordered to remain in custody until his sentencing date next month. He is being held on $1 million bail.=
