Multiple charges dismissed against man who allegedly touched teenagers at Oregon hotel

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Prosecutors drop two of three charges against a Texas man police say he touched a 13-year-old girl inappropriately At a hotel in Oregon, Ohio.

Court records show prosecutors dropped the Disorderly Conduct charge and the Open Container charge against Texan Christian Sidon. He entered a no-contest Friday and will have to spend three days at the Northwest Ohio Department of Corrections. He will also be sentenced to six months probation.

The incident occurred in June at a Sleep Inn & Suites in Oregon. The victim’s mother said they were at a birthday party at the hotel and the man allegedly touched her daughter.

Police body camera footage shows an officer speaking with Christian Sidon, who allegedly touched a 13-year-old girl inappropriately. He appears to have confessed to the police that he touched the child.

According to the police report, the incident occurred while the teenager was walking down the hallway.

Sidon allegedly “touched the woman’s upper left breast area” in an attempt to “mess with her” shortly after he was arrested and sent back to the hotel for an OVI by OPD and threw items at a vehicle belonging to the young woman’s family.

Police said the man was drunk.

He told police he lived in Texas, was in town for work and was staying at a hotel.

“I’m completely upset,” the boy’s mother said.

He said alcohol was no excuse for what he did.

“I think something needs to be done about this because you can’t just touch people and then touch the children,” the mother said.

The hotel issued the following statement to 13 Action News at the time of the incident:

“We take the safety of our customers very seriously. We know this is an ongoing investigation so we cannot comment. We are working with the police.”
