Nephew jailed in Newton County after stabbing uncle after fight

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing involving two family members.

Ethan Parks, 24, of Covington, stabbed his uncle, Jason Durden, 37, of Covington, during an argument, sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.

Deputies arrested Parks and charged him with aggravated assault under the domestic violence law.

Parks is currently being held in the Newton County Detention Center.
