Roseville Galleria Mall hit by ‘smash and grab’ theft, police investigate

(FOX40.COM) — Law enforcement is investigating a theft that occurred Thursday at the Roseville Galleria Mall.

The Roseville Police Department said it responded to a “smash and grab” incident at the Galleria’s S&L Gem around 11:30 a.m. Officers said multiple suspects entered the store with hammers, broke glass display cases and fled with stolen jewelry.

No weapons were used and no one was injured, according to RPD. There were also no arrests, but RPD said the investigation is ongoing.

In response, Roseville Galleria increased security.

“The safety and security of our customers, retailers and employees is always our primary concern at Westfield Galleria at Roseville,” a Roseville Galleria spokesperson told FOX40.com. “We are working closely with local law enforcement regarding the previous incident at our center.”

Theft comes a week later Theft at Kim Tin jewelry store in Sacramento caused the death of a woman. The two incidents are not related, but the Sacramento burglary involved five to six people who used crowbars and other items to commit the crime.
