An Inverness school will mark its 60th anniversary by opening its doors for a day of celebration tomorrow.

Lochardil Primary School will celebrate the special day with a series of events on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

These will include welcome speeches, fantastic food and craft stalls, a performance by the Glee Choir, a visit from former students who are now Inverness Caledonian Thistle Players, a P5 dance performance, a raffle and much more. Classes will also be open to visitors for a while.

“To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Lochardil Primary School, we are opening the school to the whole community!” said a school spokesman.

“Come and join us for a day of memories and joy. View our Legacy of Lochardil exhibition created by our final year students and browse the many local craft, retail and home-baking stalls.

“Get ready to have fun with our Glee Choir group and a P5 class dance that will take us back to the decades of Lochardil.

“Enjoy great food from local vendors like La Tortilla, Redshank, Mieles, Auld Smokey Pizza and Bake Box.

“There will be fun for all the family with our own photo booth, face painting, cotton candy, fire truck and digger and Inverness Caley Thistle FC players returning to the old primary school football field to share their wishes.

“There’s a chance to win amazing prizes in our giveaway including vouchers from The Drawing Room, Crazy Golf, Harry Gow, Jacobite Cruises, OJ Sports, Infinity Trampoline Park and many more!

“The stalls and fun games run by our amazing students will be cash only, so please bring your spare cash.

“We look forward to celebrating with all of you and making more precious memories.”
