Conor McGregor found liable in Dublin sexual assault case

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in a civil lawsuit filed in Dublin on Friday. The Supreme Court awarded €248,603.60 ($259,149.36) in damages to Nikita Hand, who claimed McGregor attacked her at a hotel in December 2018. The jury cleared another defendant, James Lawrence, of involvement.

Hand testified that he was violently attacked by McGregor, describing extensive bruising and serious trauma. Medical evidence supported his account, with experts documenting injuries consistent with his claims. McGregor has denied the allegations, claiming their encounter was consensual. Following the verdict, McGregor announced that he planned to appeal.

Although the decision does not include any criminal sanctions, it underscores the ongoing legal challenges for McGregor, who has not competed in the UFC since 2021. The UFC did not comment on the outcome of the case.
