More than $100,000 worth of stolen agricultural machinery was recovered by police in Mangawhai.

A John Deere tractor, pole hammer, digger and wood chipper were among the illegal loot found after police executed a search warrant on Sunday.

Police did not say where in Mangawhai the search was conducted.

Sergeant Dan McDermott, officer in charge of Wellsford Police Station, said the tractor and mast hammer were taken from a property in Tauhoa, 40km south of Mangawhai, in August.

Homeowners told police the theft had had a huge impact on their livelihoods and left both them and the wider community feeling unsafe.
