Police say man who allegedly confessed to woman’s murder at north Houston motel has been arrested

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man has been charged with murder after admitting to killing the woman he was having an affair with in a motel room Wednesday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD received the call about an attack at the Moonlight Inn, 5212 Airline Drive, around 6:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they said 36-year-old Myron Lynn Strambler was outside and a woman in one of the rooms needed assistance.

Investigators said when they entered, the motel room was in disarray and they found 34-year-old Alicia Michele Strambler on the bathroom floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma.

Charging documents state that the suspect hit the victim with a deadly weapon, first hitting his hand and then his head against the wall.

According to police, the 36-year-old suspect confessed to the murder. Records show he is currently behind bars in the Harris County Jail.

HPD said the suspect and the victim were in a relationship, but it was unclear whether they were married.

The suspect’s record also shows that he has an extensive criminal record, which includes a 2021 conviction for assault on a family member. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child in 2009, for which he served more than four years in prison. crime.
