37-year-old woman taken into custody after shooting another woman during Greater Grand Crossing fight

A woman who shot another woman in the legs during a fight in Grand Crossing on the South Side early Friday was taken into custody.

Around 1 a.m., two women, ages 35 and 37, got into an argument in the 7000 block of South Eberhart Avenue and the argument turned physical, Chicago police said.

Police said the older woman then shot the younger woman in the legs.

Authorities said the young woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition.

A firearm was seized at the scene.

The old woman was taken into custody and the charges continued.
