Harshita Brella murder: Body returned to family home in India

Officers visited Ms Brella’s home in Skegness Walk, Corby, on November 13 following concerns for her welfare.

When she could not be found, a missing person investigation was launched, leading to her body being found in the boot of a car in Brisbane Road, Ilford.

The autopsy determined that the woman died due to asphyxiation.

Police have since released photographs of Mr Lamba in the Ilford area and the couple walking near Corby’s boating lake.

Ms Brella has been a victim of domestic violence before and was the subject of a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) in September.

Northamptonshire Police referred him to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to previous contact with him.

Officers suspect Mr Lamba has fled the country, leading to an international manhunt that is still ongoing.
