Police say grandmother attacked family members with knife on Thanksgiving

MEMPHIS, Tennessee. (WMC/Gray News) – A Tennessee woman was arrested after stabbing two family members on Thanksgiving.

Lachunda Johnson, 55, faces charges that include aggravated assault and domestic violence, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Officers said they spoke with one of the stabbing victims at the hospital and told her that she and her mother, Johnson, had been involved in an argument about her son being pushed.

Police said Johnson attacked those involved in the argument after grabbing a knife from the kitchen that evening.

Johnson’s daughter suffered abrasions on her left hand, and the woman’s grandson also suffered injuries to his left hand.

Authorities said Johnson had been drinking and was likely extremely intoxicated at the time of the attack.

Officers detained Johnson nearby after he left the family home.

In addition, the 3 children who were in the house at the time of the incident were not harmed.
