Teen charged after breaking into Lloydminster pot store

A teenager is facing charges after thousands of dollars of merchandise were stolen in a cannabis store robbery east of Edmonton.

Early on the morning of November 26, the horsemen were called to the store on the south side of town.

Police said the store was broken into and approximately $15,000 worth of items were stolen.

That same day, police executed a search warrant at a home in the 1800 block of 49 Avenue, where they recovered items stolen from the store.

An unidentified 17-year-old boy was arrested under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The teenager was charged with:

  • break and enter;
  • possession of stolen property over $5,000;
  • three counts of failure to comply with an eviction order; And
  • five counts of failure to comply with probation.

The young man was released on condition. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 3 in Lloydminster.
