PAEDO, who made thousands of pounds by creating images of child abuse using artificial intelligence and real pictures, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The 27-year-old then sold them on an internet forum, charging pedophiles £80 for a new “character”.

After that, converting them into different open positions was £10 per image.

Nelson, from Bolton, earned around £5,000 in 18 months.

CPS specialist prosecutor Jeanette Smith said: “This is one of the first cases of its kind to show a link between people like Nelson using technology to create computer-generated images and real-life crimes.” behind this.”

While pedophiles have been jailed for using artificial intelligence to create images of child abuse, for the first time, police have been able to link these images to real children.

Police arrested Nelson at his parents’ home in Egerton in June last year.

He admitted to police officers that he was primarily sexually attracted to girls as young as 12 years old.

All of the children whose photos were sent to Nelson were from France, Italy and the United States.

The relevant authorities in these countries were notified and further arrests were made.

Experts at the Internet Watch Foundation in Cambridge say they have found more images of child abuse made using artificial intelligence in the last six months than in the whole of last year.

Dan Sexton, the charity’s chief technical officer, said: “It’s always been a challenge.

“(But) we’ve never had to deal with the possibility that someone could download software onto their computer and create an endless number of new images.

“They’re using as much as they can until the hard drives are full. This is a new type of damage that we’re not prepared for.”
