Twenty-two former Kayayei or head potters have successfully completed a driving training program under the government’s NEIP Kayayei Empowerment Program (KEP). Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia presented certificates to newly qualified bus drivers at the graduation ceremony held in Accra.

The Vice President congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to succeed in their new roles as professional drivers. He emphasized the importance of their success and said it demonstrated the power of empowerment programs to transform lives.

The NEIP Kayayei Empowerment Program aims to empower 5,000 Kayayei across the country through technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The program also offers modules in fashion design, soap making, bead making and more.
