Thane, Oct 28 (PTI) A case has been registered against four people for allegedly raping a 13-year-old inmate staying at an orphanage in Navi Mumbai, police said on Monday.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered at Khandeshwar police station under sections 64 (rape) and 74 (assault or criminal use of force on woman with intent to outrage her chastity) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (An official, POCSO) said the Act was applicable he said.

According to preliminary information, one of the suspects raped the girl by entering her room through the window in July, and another man attacked her in the same way last month.
