The court said the woman who was allegedly raped by Slowthai felt ‘helpless’

The woman, who claimed that she was raped by Grammy-nominated rapper Slowthai, said that she felt “helpless” during the attack and did not resist.

The 29-year-old man and his friend Alex Blake-Walker are accused of raping two women at a house party following a concert at The Bullingdon in Oxford in September 2021.

Slowthai, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, and Mr Blake-Walker, 27, deny three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Oxford Crown Court heard the men were introduced to a group of eight women after Mr Frampton’s show.

The group of women and four men then went straight to a party, the court was told.

While some of the women remained inside, Mr Frampton and Mr Blake-Walker went to the roof with the two complainants.

The prosecution alleges that Mr Blake-Walker raped the first women while being encouraged by Mr Frampton, and that Frampton raped the second complainant twice while being encouraged by Blake-Walker.

Both men are accused of sexually assaulting the woman whom Mr Frampton allegedly raped.

In a police statement made a week after the alleged rapes, the woman told officers she had been drinking and taking ketamine and cocaine that night.

The court was told how she arrived at the house and as she walked up the stairs both defendants touched her inappropriately.

Later in the interview she described how Mr Frampton pushed her to the ground and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The court heard: “I told him to stop. Slowthai was trying to pull my hair to get me to continue,” the woman told police.

“They were saying, ‘No, it’s safe for us to keep an eye on you, you’re safe with us.’ They were saying, ‘It’s so great, I can’t believe this is happening,’ and they were punching each other.”

Describing the second rape allegation, the woman said Mr Frampton pushed her against the wall and pressed her face against it.

He said: “I didn’t say no, I didn’t say anything, I just acted like I wasn’t really there.

“I said I wanted to get in at some point.”

Describing the other complainant, the woman said she heard him “saying that he didn’t do that, that he was safe.”

Then the woman added: “They said the phrase team. I think that’s what Blake-Walker was suggesting.”

Asked by a police officer why she didn’t tell Mr Frampton to stop, the woman said: “I felt helpless, like my body didn’t belong to me.”

Mr Frampton, of Wellingborough Road, Northampton, and Mr Blake-Walker, of Wallbutton Road, south-east London, deny three charges of joint rape and one count of sexual assault against the two women.

The trial continues.
