Driver involved in two separate crashes on Highway 11

TEMISKAMING SHORES – A driver is facing an impairment-related charge after two separate crashes involving the same person on Highway 11 North.

On November 27 at approximately 1:30 pm, Temiskaming OPP responded to a failure to stay collision on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Beach.

Police officers responding to the call encountered a second crash on Highway 11, approximately three miles south of the first crash.

“The driver was arrested for impaired driving after the investigation revealed the same vehicle was involved in both incidents,” police said in a press release.

A 26-year-old from Englehart is charged with:

  • Non-fulfillment or rejection of the request
  • Not staying at the scene of the accident

The defendant has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on January 7, 2025.

No accusation has been tested in court and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty,
