Daisy Link, who faces second-degree murder charges after her boyfriend was fatally shot in the leg, revealed that the baby’s father, a fellow inmate, was also charged with murder.

“This is real change, it is. Everybody tells me it’s like the Lifetime Movie Network,” Link, 29, he told Miami’s Fox affiliate WSVN.

Link has been locked up at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in West Miami-Dade for two years. However, after the channel reported that she was pregnant in January and her family wanted to know how it happened, she gave birth to a daughter in June.

Link said she has never met the father of her child, Joan Depaz. After DNA analysis, the results confirmed that he was the father. He explained that they met in the prison vents.

“If you knock on the door you can hear people on different floors,” he said. “You would actually stand on the toilet so you could talk to them.”

Soon the two began exchanging notes and pictures between floors.

“When you’re isolated for that long, you start spending hours talking to that person, so much so that it’s like you’re in the same room with them.”

They eventually formed a romantic relationship in prison. The 23-year-old father then told him about his dream.

“I always really wanted to have a baby,” Depaz said. “And I won’t be able to do this for a really long time. So if I had to choose one it would be you. “And he said, ‘Yes, we can do that.'”

Then they made a plan. He would wrap his semen in Saran Wrap and tie it to a rope made from bedding material he had dropped from a vent one floor below.

“He was kind of rolling it up like a cigarette and putting it on the string in the vent, and I was pulling it through,” he said.

“From there I placed it inside the yeast infection applicators. I placed it there and administered it from there.

After several tries, Link became pregnant.

“I can’t believe it worked,” he said. “I think everything happens for a reason.”

Depaz said he was treated like a celebrity in prison.

The baby is now five months old and lives with Depaz’s mother.

Prison officials transferred him to another prison, but they still talk on the phone and see their daughter during video visits.

“Anything can happen,” said the mother. “I think it would be a great thing.”

Miami-Dade Corrections said the incident is still being investigated by internal affairs investigators.
