32-year-old woman diagnosed with stage 4 cancer reveals common symptoms she ignored for years

A Canadian woman was left fighting for her life after ignoring telltale signs of stage 4 cancer.

Taylor Deanne Roy, 32, had noticed a range of symptoms over a two-year period but didn’t believe there was anything bad going on.

“For years I experienced extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, itchy skin, and random aches, but I thought it was nothing to worry about,” says Roy.

He went to the doctor just in case, but he believed that his health complications were due to follicular eczema and that other problems were simply a result of aging.

‘I was extremely tired and out of shape for two years but figured it was just part of getting older. “(Then) I started experiencing random pain that I blamed myself for,” he recalled.

But over time, in September, she noticed a large lump on her neck and asked the doctor for an ultrasound, which led to a biopsy.

A month later, the results showed that he was suffering from stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

‘On October 2 this year, less than two months after finding the lump, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which had spread to my lungs and the bones in my spine.

‘The moment I found out I had cancer it was as if the whole world around me stopped. For a few minutes I felt like nothing was real.

‘All I wanted was to be the best version of myself and start a family. “Now, at the age of 32, I am in the fight of my life,” he said.

Roy is currently receiving treatment for the condition and is experiencing ‘severe pain, nausea and fatigue’.

‘My body is a stranger, betraying me in ways I never thought possible. Simple tasks that I once did without even thinking about them now sometimes become almost impossible.

‘The hardest part is losing the independence I worked so hard to build,’ she said.

‘I’ve reached a point where I need to ask for help because sometimes no matter how strong we try to be, we can’t do it alone.’

‘Advocate for yourself and don’t give up when doctors don’t listen,’ Roy said.

He also started a GoFundMe to raise money to support himself and fund his treatment.
