Richland One school bus involved in crash, students evaluated by EMS

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A Richland County School District school bus was involved in a crash Monday morning, according to the Columbia Police Department (CPD).

Officials said the crash occurred at the intersection of Garners Ferry and Veterans Way. CPD reported that in addition to the school bus, a car was also involved in the crash.

According to the information provided by the authorities, the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital, while the students on the bus were evaluated by emergency medical teams.

Six students from Meadowfield Elementary School were on the bus at the time of the crash, according to the district.

The district said no students were reported injured and another bus took them to school.

No information regarding the cause of the accident has been disclosed at this time.
