‘The world is welcome’; Local woman has been serving free Thanksgiving dinner for 60 years

CHILI, NY — A local woman has been hosting free Thanksgiving meals for people in need for 60 years.

Nancy Meyers provided meals at Chili Paul Wegmans’ cafeteria with the help of volunteers. News10NBC spoke to Meyers about what inspired her determination to make sure everyone has a holiday meal.

“This is my 60th year of having people who have nowhere to go or who are lonely,” he said. “Or many people have relatives but no family. So the world is welcome. People are great. “It’s like a big, happy family,” he said.
