Man breaks into house and steals items

PORTSMOUTH, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A Wheelersburg, Ohio man was arrested after deputies say he broke into a home and stole items.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman said the incident occurred just after 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 27.

Investigators said someone was home when the burglary occurred and called 911.

Deputies say the suspect, Jazmine Allen, 33, of Wheelersburg, grabbed several items and fled the home before deputies arrived.

Deputies caught up with Allen a short time later and located the stolen items not far from where the theft took place.

Allen is charged with felony burglary and theft.

He is due to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on December 2.
