Samsung won’t force splitting Quick Settings in Android 15

One of the controversial aspects of Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update based on Android 15 is the decision to separate notifications and Quick Settings into two different panes. However, it seems that this will not happen by force.

Samsung’s Changes to Quick Settings and notifications These were among the first details to emerge about One UI 7. For many, this decision came as a surprise, as Android has long consolidated notifications and Quick Settings into a single, two-piece pane and One UI. followed this behavior. Separating the two into completely separate panes demonstrates how iOS works and the behavior implemented in some Android skins used in China.

But thankfully Samsung makes this optional.

A. new applied video released This week we’re taking a closer look at One UI 7’s new Quick Settings tray. In its new behavior, you can swipe down from the left side for notifications, while you can swipe down from the right side for the Quick Settings menu. There are also new editing options that allow individual blocks of the renewed Quick Settings menu to be moved.

Much more important in this editor interface is the “Settings” button in the top corner.

From here, users can decide how the Quick Settings panel in One UI 7 will work. Samsung seems to have “Separated” by default, but the “Together” option seems to combine the two, leaving behind today’s functionality where one swipe reveals some Quick Settings tiles and your notifications, and a second swipe reveals all Quick Settings. panel.

Somewhat frustratingly, it’s not shown in action in this video, but it’s great news to know the option exists.

The video also shows the new multitasking UI more clearly We reported earlier this monthas well as details of the lock screen overhaul.

Samsung is preparing to introduce the beta version of One UI 7 at the end of this year, with one full release delayed to 2025.
