An investigation into a suspicious package led to road closures around the U.S. Courthouse in Gainesville Monday afternoon.

In a statement from Court Coordinator Susan Ray, it was stated that the Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the package and closed parts of Green Street and Spring Street.

“The main courthouse and annex building are not in danger and court proceedings in the buildings are normal,” Ray said. he said. “However, visitors are currently unable to enter the Courthouse Parking Lot from the Spring Street entrance on the main floor and must find alternative parking.”

Ray added that both parking lot exits remain open and courthouse employees can still enter the courthouse through the employee door on the ground floor.
