2 people were injured in an accident involving a single vehicle on the highway. 416 in the south end of Ottawa

Two people were taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 416 in the south end of Ottawa.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Highway 416 at Bankfield Road just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service told CTV News Ottawa there was a single vehicle rollover on the highway.

One man was airlifted to the Ottawa Hospital Trauma Centre. He was in serious but stable condition. Medical teams took the second person to the hospital, whose condition was stable.

The southbound lanes of Highway 416 were closed between Fallowfield Drive and Bankfield Road while OPP investigated.
