The investigation led officers to Inspira Hospital in Bridgeton and eventually New Jersey State Police troopers to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where they detained a man being treated for a gunshot wound for questioning.

Investigators later identified Mutcherson, Brown, Willis and Pimentel as suspects in connection with Mosley’s murder.

Mutcherson, Brown and Willis are charged with murder, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon and other related crimes.

Pimentel is charged with obstructing an investigation, obstructing justice and tampering with evidence.

‘Permanent friend and role model’

Mosley began his career in 2006 as a paralegal with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, she became a county detective with the office in 2009 and has served in various units, including probation teams, Special Victims Unit, Community Justice Unit and Internal Affairs, where she was the Unit Supervisor.

“Sgt. Mosley was a constant friend and role model to all with whom he served and led in law enforcement in Cumberland County and beyond,” Webb-McRae wrote. “He will be missed more than words can detail, but will never be forgotten by the CCPO family. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Sergeant Mosley’s family at this most difficult time.”

Outside of work, Mosley was a proud mother of two daughters, grandmother of twin grandchildren, and a dog owner.

“I would see him every day when he came home,” Mosley’s longtime neighbor, Diane Sapp, told NBC10. “He would back up and go to the mailbox. He would get in the car and get his dog. It was him and his dog, China this. China that. He loved China.”

Mosely’s longtime friend, Gary Walker Jr., described her as a woman who was “always smiling.”

“He was just a kind person inside and out,” she said. “And I will miss his laughter and his fun.”

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also released a statement regarding Mosley’s death earlier in the month.

“I am outraged and heartbroken over the killing of Sgt. Governor Murphy wrote about Monica Mosley, who was shot and killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton last night. As a detective with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, Sergeant Mosley served his community with distinction, working every day to ensure safety. and the well-being of the people of Cumberland County. This act of violence impacts our entire law enforcement agency and all of New Jersey.”

New Jersey State Police, along with two other agencies, are leading the investigation into the death of a detective who was shot inside his home. Family members were seen taking items from the victim’s home on Thursday, but no new information was released from authorities. NBC10’s Leah Uko has what we know.
