Erode court sentenced to 2 to 3 years imprisonment for chain snatching

An Erode court sentenced two men to three years in prison for stealing a chain from a woman in 2019. According to the prosecution, Lokeshwaran, also known as ‘Kuttai Sakku’, a known criminal with multiple cases against him, along with his accomplice Anandakumar, stole a gold chain of three states from a woman. Erode Town police registered a case and led to the arrest of these persons.

The court found both men guilty and sentenced them to three years imprisonment each along with an additional fine of ₹10,000. After sentencing, they were taken to Coimbatore Central Jail. In its statement, the regional police reiterated its determination to take action against criminals and those who disturb public peace.
