Wildfire east of Douglass is under control

BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) – Update: Butler County Communications confirmed that the fire near Douglass that prompted evacuations is under control. Teams continue to work in the area to control the fire.

Fire departments are responding to a wildfire east of Douglass on Tuesday afternoon.

Butler County Dispatch says the large fire is near SW 230th and Haverhill Rd and is moving north.

Butler County Emergency Communications sent out a RAVE ALERT for evacuations in that area. People are also asked to avoid the area.
