Utah Corporation may be close to resolution of rape suspect Nicholas Rossi

PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Nicholas Rossi and the State of Utah may be close to a decision on 2008 rape allegations, lawyers reveal.

The case was heard in a Utah County court on Tuesday, October 29, without Rossi present. Lawyer Daniel Diaz, representing Rossi, asked the judge to extend the deadline, saying that a decision may come.

Diaz requested that the case be reconsidered on a different date, saying, “The state and I are close to a possible resolution and we’re trying to investigate this some more.” Judge Derek Pullan granted a continuance order, adjourning a new pre-trial conference hearing until Tuesday, November 19.

“If the matter is not resolved then, I would like to see a trial date scheduled,” Pullan said.
