Independent contractors charged in rape of actor Sandro Muhlach

FRANCIS EARL CUETO MANILA, Philippines — Two independent contractors accused of allegedly raping actor Sandro Muhlach have been indicted in the Pasay Regional Trial Court, the Department of Justice said.

Reports said Justice Department prosecutors filed charges against the suspects, identified as Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, on one count of rape by sexual assault and two counts of acts of lasciviousness.

They don’t, and said they found prima facie evidence against Cruz with a reasonable certainty of conviction.

The case will be handled by Pasay RTC Branch 115. It will be recalled that Muhlach filed a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation against two Justice Department contractors in August.
Both Nones and Cruz filed a counter-affidavit stating that if the allegations are not supported by documentary evidence, the Justice Department should dismiss the case.
