“I am pleased to announce that the ‘Florida Stands with Israel’ license plate has reached the production threshold,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a statement. “Florida and Israel share a special bond and enduring friendship.”

The special plates were requested by the Israeli-American Action Coalition and designed by Florida State University graduate Daniel Ackerman. His design was selected from a public competition from more than 100 submissions. The design includes the Florida state flower, an orange and the Israeli flag.

“Four years ago, we set out to create a tangible symbol of Florida’s support for Israel,” IAC CEO Elan Carr said in a statement. “This plaque is a testament to the enduring friendship between Florida and Israel and our organization’s commitment to strengthening that bond. “As these plates begin appearing on vehicles in Florida, they will serve as mobile reminders of the strong ties between Florida and Israel and reflect the shared values that unite our communities.”

Those who pre-order the plate will pay an additional $ 36.90 when receiving the plate.

While the state has begun production of the first batch of pre-orders, pre-orders for the specialty plate were no longer available as of Tuesday night, according to IAC. Once the first batch of plates is produced, the state will produce more based on demand.
