Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault in Naples: Family Dispute Behind Stabbing

Last night, the gendarmes of the operational unit and the special officer of the Naples Vomero company arrested 46-year-old Vincenzo Rongo from the Spanish Quarters, already known to law enforcement authorities, for serious injuries with a bladed weapon. The events took place yesterday in Morghen, when a 21-year-old young man was stabbed five times by an unidentified person. The hypothesis that the attack was due to traffic was disproved. Investigations carried out by the army, coordinated by the Naples prosecutor’s office, revealed that the two heroes of the incident knew each other. The reason for the attack appears to be related to domestic disputes. The victim, who was discharged from Cardarelli with a 15-day prognosis due to multiple stab wounds to his extremities, could not recognize the 46-year-old, who was wearing a helmet. The suspect, identified through analysis of valuable surveillance footage, was tracked to Pellegrini hospital, where he had gone to get some minor cuts treated, possibly related to the morning incident. The clothes used by the 46-year-old young man on Morghen were found and seized.
