Young Bandit’s YSL Case Defendant Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison After Confessing Guilt

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Quamarvation Nichols struck a plea deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to a single count of violating Georgia’s anti-racketeering laws in exchange for 20 years in prison.

As part of the deal, Nichols will spend seven years behind bars, including two years prior to sentencing and 13 years of supervised release following his release. The defendant previously faced a possible life sentence before making the deal with the state.

In exchange for his plea, several charges were dropped against Nichols; among the most serious were murder and weapons possession. With Nichols’ sentencing, only five defendants, including Young Thug, remain in the YSL RICO case, which is now the longest-running case in Georgia history.

In May 2022, Young Thug and more than two dozen members of the alleged YSL gang were arrested. arrested and charged as part of a 56-count indictment charging the crew with violating Georgia state racketeering laws and committing violent acts, including murder, as part of the enterprise. Recently, Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker considered whether to declare a mistrial after a state witness disclosed sensitive information to the jury, a move also requested by Thug’s own legal team.

Following the sentencing of Nichols, Whitaker advised him to follow the law going forward and use the plea agreement as an opportunity to do right by his loved ones.

“Stay out of any trouble,” Whitaker reportedly told Nichols. “Make this a birthday gift to yourself, your partner, and your family.”
