The Municipality of Athens has decided to permanently revoke the license of the bar on Vouliagmenis Boulevard.

The Municipality of Athens has decided to permanently revoke the license of the bar on Vouliagmenis Boulevard.

The decision is as follows: Incident last Saturday night in which underage patrons were hospitalized after consuming alcohol at the bar in question.

During the meeting, Deputy Mayor for Municipal Police and Public Spaces, Thomas Georgiadis, informed the Council that two organizations operate on Vouliagmenis Boulevard, the first licenses for both were issued in 2020, and the correction license for the existing company was issued in 2022.

The bar owner’s legal representative attended the session and presented his arguments as to why the license should not be cancelled.

However, after the motion was unanimously accepted, Mayor Charis Doukas said, “It is meaningful that we reached a unanimous decision on this issue and sent a message. “In addition, we can collaborate cross-party to send a letter to the government and encourage them to introduce legislation that would give the Municipal Police the authority to respond to such cases.”
