Coral Gables man who admitted to mail theft faces 10 charges

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A 28-year-old man admitted to committing fraud by stealing checks from business mailboxes in Coral Gables, according to Sgt. Michelle Christensen of the Coral Gables Police Department.

Records show Marcos Antonio Nuviola-Rodriguez, who was first arrested Oct. 18, had four cases pending in Miami-Dade County court as of Wednesday. In total, Nuviola-Rodriguez was facing 10 charges.

Prosecutors filed the first charge on Oct. 19, charging theft of an unoccupied vehicle, a third-degree crime; and petty theft, a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors also filed charges of criminal mischief and two counts of petty theft on Oct. 22; on Oct. 23 for burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, criminal mischief and petty theft; and on Oct. 24 for burglary of an unoccupied vehicle and petit larceny.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judges Carlos Humberto Gamez and Marcus Richard Bach Armas presided over the cases.
