New Northside Tavern Will Also Be Used as a Cafe » Urban Milwaukee

New dining options are on the horizon Northern Division neighborhood, where Alexander Echols plans to open Wilson Club and Café.

Recommended for upcoming job 1008 W. Center St.According to the license application, it aims to offer a variety of hot meals, prepared foods and alcoholic beverages, as well as a lounge environment and various entertainment.

The name Wilson Club and Cafe is an homage to the previous building tenant. Club Wilson’s.

Echols, who purchased the 100-year-old building in 2021, explained his vision for the space in his license application, stating that he hopes to “emphasize comfort and style while providing a location where people can relax, socialize and enjoy drinks in an elegant yet casual environment.”

On the cafe side, guests can enjoy a variety of ready-made meals. Options may include yogurt parfait, soup, fresh fruit, cake slices, pie and breakfast sandwiches with turkey, pork or vegan alternatives.

The dinner menu includes pizza, sandwiches, fish fries, and both beef and vegan burgers, as well as finger foods like chicken strips, chicken wings, and shrimp.

Wilson Club and Cafe plans to offer beer, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages in addition to food. Entertainment; May include dancing, karaoke, DJs, live music, pool table and more.

According to the floor plans submitted with the license application, the 1,200 square meter facility will include bar and table seating areas as well as an outdoor patio.

Echols noted plans to update the living area and expand the kitchen in the 1924 building. Renovations will begin “as soon as possible” and the finished space aims to “blend modern aesthetics with comfort and functionality”.

License application for business has not been made yet Milwaukee Common Council. If approved, Wilson Club and Cafe plans to be open from noon to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2:30 a.m. Friday through Saturday.

Echols did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.
