Mexican man loses foot in Laredo train crash

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A 38-year-old man from Toluca, Mexico, was seriously injured while trying to board a moving train near I-35 and Carriers Drive on Tuesday, October 29, according to Laredo Police.

Police arrived at the scene around 6:11 p.m. and found the man missing both legs after he allegedly fell from the train. He told police officers that he tried to jump onto the train while it was still moving, which led to the accident.

The man was rushed to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. Police are still investigating full details of the incident.

Officers shared that the man was in the United States illegally.
