Reports: Auburn DB and former Alabama player Antonio Kite dismissed from team

Auburn linebacker Antonio Kite has been dismissed from the team, according to multiple reports.

AuburnSports’ Jay G. Tate was first to report the news.

The Alabama transfer linebacker has played in all eight games this season but hasn’t seen much playing time on defense since Auburn’s loss to Arkansas on Sept. 21.

He has appeared mostly on special teams since then, scoring a touchdown on a muffed punt against Missouri. He has six tackles and one interception on the season.

Kite began his career in Alabama, signing with the Crimson Tide out of Anniston High School in the 2022 class. He struggled to find playing time at Alabama’s junior college before transferring to Auburn in January 2024.

With Kite gone and Tyler Scott and Champ Anthony recovering from season-ending injuries, Auburn’s cornerbacks are down to Kayin Lee, Jay Crawford, Kensley Louidor-Faustin, JC Hart and A’mon Lane-Ganus. Veteran defenseman Keionte Scott could also be a part of this group, having spent time at both corner and nickel.
