Riley County police investigating attempted murder stabbing

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County police Authorities said they were investigating an attempted murder case reported late Tuesday in Manhattan.

The incident was reported around 10:49 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Walters Drive in northeast Manhattan.

RCPD said investigators believe 53-year-old Marcus Washington of Manhattan stabbed the 39-year-old male victim. It was stated that the injured person, whose name was not disclosed, was under treatment and his condition was stable.

As a result, Washington was being held in the Riley County Jail on $250,000 bail on charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery as of 1:30 p.m.

RCPD officers also arrested two other people in connection with this incident: 41-year-old Alvin Love and 26-year-old Nichole Cochrun, both of Manhattan, for allegedly interfering with law enforcement and obstructing prosecution apprehension.

Both were held on a $10,000 bond respectively.
