(RTTNews) – Industrial production in South Korea showed a seasonally adjusted monthly decline of 0.2 percent in September, Statistics Korea said on Thursday.

This was far from forecasts for a 1.2 percent increase, following a 4.4 percent increase in August.

On an annual basis, industrial production fell by 1.3 percent; After recording a 3.8 percent increase in the previous month, it was still below the expectation of a 0.2 percent increase.

The statistics bureau also said retail sales fell 0.4 percent for the month after rising 1.7 percent in the previous month.
