Motorcyclist dies after colliding with jeep in Ipoh

IPOH: A 25-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a jeep at Jalan Tambun.

Ipoh OCPD Deputy Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad confirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene at around 9am on Thursday, October 31.

Before the accident, the jeep was turning from Tambun New Village towards Jalan Tambun.

The motorcyclist, who was heading towards the city from Tanjung Rambutan, could not stop in time and crashed into the right side of the jeep.

It was determined that the person, who was seriously injured in his chest, died at the scene.

An autopsy at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital revealed that the cause of death was chest injury resulting from the collision.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for careless driving causing death.

The 77-year-old jeep driver escaped uninjured.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin advised people to drive carefully and always wear seat belts or helmets.

He called for compliance with traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
