Tacoma man arrested in July murder in south Seattle

Seattle police arrested a 19-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a homicide that occurred July 28 in South Seattle.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. on July 28, officers received a report of a shooting that had occurred in the area of ​​25th Avenue South and South College Street. When police arrived, they found a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers attempted life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department paramedics arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, according to police.

Seattle police said the events leading up to the shootings are unknown.

“Members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Homicide Detectives responded to the scene,” Seattle police wrote in a media release. “The Homicide Unit will work to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.”

Seattle police said the 19-year-old man was located and arrested in Tacoma on Oct. 29.

He was booked into the King County jail for investigation of murder, according to Seattle police.
