Convicted sex offender sentenced to 4 life sentences after newest convictions in Clark County

NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WSAW) – A 70-year-old Owen man was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences in the Wisconsin State Prison system without the possibility of parole or extended supervision in a child sexual assault case.

Joseph Pierce Sr. was found guilty by a jury in August.

Clark County Judge Daniel Diehn handed down the sentence Thursday.

Clark County District Attorney Melissa Inlow, who prosecuted the case on behalf of the state along with Deputy Attorney General James Krause, said she was pleased with the sentence and noted that the defendant’s despicable behavior and history of similar behavior make clear that the public must be protected. can only be achieved through permanent incarceration.

Inlow stated that Pierce Sr. would not have been held accountable for his heinous crimes had it not been for the courage of the four young victims who testified at the trial.

He was already on the Wisconsin Sex Offender registry as a life registrant for a 1991 conviction in Waupaca County.
