WILLIAMSPORT—A federal judge rejected a defense request to dismiss charges against the man accused of manufacturing fentanyl and its derivatives at what he claimed was a legitimate research business near Lewisburg.

U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann made his decision Thursday after hearing defense on the fourth day of the trial. Trial of Anthony D. Bressi, 52, of Danville.

He found that the government’s evidence was sufficient for a reasonable jury to find Bressi guilty of charges of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute controlled substances and possession with intent to do the same.
