Fetih man charged with DWI and unlicensed operation after crash

A Conquest man faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, after a single-vehicle crash in Conquest Town. On October 20 at approximately 5:51 p.m., Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near Bush Hill Road and Spooks Woods Road.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that the driver, Matthew J. Bendixen, lost control of his gray Nissan SUV, crossed into the oncoming lane, veered off the road and struck a ditch on the south shoulder. Upon further investigation, authorities determined that Bendixen was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Bendixen was charged with DWI (first offense), operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or greater, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, among other traffic violations. He was processed and released with a uniform traffic ticket and was scheduled to appear in Fetih Court on October 22 at 18:00.
