Netflix has heard your calls to bring back the vibe of Breaking Bad and revived Murder Mindfulness, a stylish new comedy that does exactly what it says on the tin.

Now netflix tried to recreate the excitement of another great success, Breaking Bad. This time it’s a less secret methamphetamine lab, but a more secret murder.

I’m talking about the black comedy Murder Mindful, which dropped quietly to streaming. But what is it actually about?

What is Homicide Awareness about?

Murder with Awareness follows Björn Diemel, a successful lawyer who accidentally becomes a murderer at a mindfulness retreat.

Consider Nine Perfect Strangers with a bit more dark comedy. Netflix’s official synopsis reads: “When mob lawyer Björn attends a mindfulness class to find a better work-life balance, he discovers surprising new coping strategies, including murder.”

If you think the title sounds familiar, there’s a reason for that. new television show It is adapted from the novel of the same name created by Karsten Dusse.

“Björn is given an ultimatum: Fix his work-life balance, or his wife Katharina will leave him and take their daughter,” the original synopsis adds.

“He reluctantly starts a mindfulness class and, to his surprise, it becomes an epiphany. He becomes calmer, more focused, and begins to understand what is truly important in life. When his client and ruthless crime boss Dragan Sergowicz tries to intrude on his family’s precious time, Björn remembers his newfound goal of finding peace and kills him.

“Now Björn can deepen his practice and seek inner peace through the use of violence.”

Unsurprisingly, the TV adaptation stayed true to its original source material… so if you enjoyed the darkness the first time around, you probably won’t be disappointed.

However, if you have read the English translation of the book, be prepared for the TV version to also be in German (with English subtitles, of course).

Is it worth watching?

There is no official Rotten Tomatoes score, but the series is estimated to be: underappreciated sleeper hitIt is released with almost no fanfare.
