Sleet and snow showers causing hazardous driving conditions | Yle News

The Finnish Meteorological Institute issued a warning on Friday about driving conditions in the southern and central regions, valid until 6am on Saturday.

Heavy sleet and snow have led to hazardous driving conditions around the city of Tampere.

Temperatures dropped to -17 in Lapland

Weekend weather forecasts show cloudy skies in many parts of the country, with showers in the south and east. Daytime temperatures on Saturday will range from 5 degrees Celsius in the south to -2 degrees Celsius in Finnish Lapland.

The outlook for next week is for milder temperatures and no more snow is predicted.
