Authorities say Houston father was killed in his garage on Halloween by suspect wearing a Mike Myers mask, possibly at Hawks Nest

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are searching for a person described as a suspect wearing a Michael Myers mask near the scene of a fatal shooting in northwest Harris County, investigators told ABC13 on Friday.

The shooting happened around 11:15 p.m. on Halloween night on Hawks Nest Drive near March Creek Drive.

The man’s two children were home at the time, but they escaped unharmed.

Authorities said a man was outside in the garage while his two young children were inside the home and someone shot him several times. The children escaped unhurt. The third child, a toddler, was with a relative and was not home at the time of the shooting.

According to authorities, neighbors reported seeing a suspicious man wearing a Michael Myers mask.

Detectives are investigating whether this man was the shooter but have not released any other details about him. The investigation into the attack and the cause of the incident continues.

A sergeant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told ABC13’s Courtney Fischer that it was the man’s estranged wife (who is also the mother of the children). Killed in his apartment in Harris County I returned in August.

They shared three children together and now those children have lost both parents.

ABC13 also learned the man was a person of interest in his estranged wife’s murder.

His identity has not been released, but investigators say he is in his 30s.
